A short history of Györköny – from the beginning to the deportation – This document is the first “book of ecclesia” of the Lutheran congregation in Györköny, in which Pastor György Szeniczei Bárány began recording births, marriages and deaths in 1719. On the cover it is stated that the congregation “from the Hungarian and German inhabitants for 1718 years St. It started to build from the snow of György. ”The Germans came from Moson and Sopron counties, around Lake Neusiedl, and were so-called Heidebauers.
